Peugeot 408 debuts in Russia

In Russia makes its debut sedan Peugeot 408, which will compete in the segment of popular Car family. Peugeot 408 is a four-door version of the 308 with a wheelbase extended by 100 mm. The car will be available in Russia at a price of 549 000 rubles ($ 14000).

Apart from the three different versions of the fitting, the purchaser will be able to choose one of three engines gasoline with a capacity of 1.6 liters and power outputs of 110, 120 or 150 hp, and economical 1.6-liter diesel unit producing 112 hp and consuming an average of 5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.

For Peugeot 408 version continues the traditional expression of the brand logo of a lion. The number 4 refers to the positioning of the car in the segment of medium-size family sedans. The middle digit of 0 means that the model belongs to the Peugeot brand, while the digit 8 indicates generationvehicle .

This model is no longer sold as such China and South America. Copies for the Russian market will be built in a factory in Kaluga.

   It looks like there are four pedals on the drivers side. Is the one on the left just a footrest?
